Ever heard of Kickstarter? To be honest you may not have, but the web site, which lets users pledge money for products, movies, albums and other projects that can't or don't want to get bank funding, has been running just in the US since 2009. More than 70,000 projects have been pitched on Kickstarter with $311m pledged by project backers - with a project success rate of just over 48%.

Until now any budding UK entrepreneur wanted to set up a kickstarter project they would have to register a US account. It's only been up and running 1 day but there's already 199 UK based projects been added. Why not take a look or better still set up a project?
