Boxes are used all the time in everyday life especially in retail. 85% of all products sold to consumers come in cardboard boxes. Although cardboard is recyclable with the vast amount out there should companies be thinking outside of the box.

Puma have taken the first leap in reducing their 'paw print' by creating the clever little Puma shoe bag. It is a shoe box with a difference. Using less packaging and an unrecognisable design the clever little bag is reducing 8500 tons of paper, saving 20 million mega joules of electricity and 1 million litres of water. It not only has less packaging and cardboard but also does not require a carrier bag!

Puma is currently the first big shoe manufacturer to look into changing the packaging their products but hopefully in the near future other companies will follow puma, helping to cut down their co2 emissions.
